Cup Noodle Museum

Cup Noodle

Have you ever wished you could design your own flavour of Cup Noodles? At the Cup Noodle museum your dreams can come true! Even if this has never been your dream, a visit to the birthplace of Cup Noodles is a must while in Japan and the kids will love it! There are two Cup Noodle museums, one in Yokohama and one in Osaka. We visited the one in Osaka and made our own Cup Noodles and the kids loved this experience.

Momofuku Ando

The Cup Noodle Museum Osaka Ikeda is the birthplace of Cup Noodles. In 1958 Momofuku Ando invented instant ramen noodles and the Cup Noodle Museum tells his story and gives the history of the humble Cup Noodle to the present day.

This is a fascinating museum but the best part is designing your own Cup Noodles!!

First decorate your own ‘Cup Noodle’ cup with the textas provided.

Noodles are added to your cup…

…then select the flavour and ingredients to add to your noodles. Ingredients include garlic, green bean, crab fish cake, corn, kimchi, pork, egg, green onion, chicken, cheese, prawn or cute fish cake printed with the chicken logo of Cup Noodles.

Your Cup Noddles are then sealed, plastic wrapped and put in an air filled bag to bring home – a perfect bespoke souvenir.

We had these as our first meal back in Australia after our trip. It was a great way to continue the holiday and it was a life saver. A storm had flooded the kitchen while we were away. Cup noodles – the perfect convenient meal!

Who would enjoy this…

For any fan of Cup Noodles or instant noodles, this is a must and any student who owes survival of their uni years to instant noodles can pay homage to the father of Cup Noodles.

In all honesty this will be enjoyed by everyone! It’s a lot of fun and a very personal and tasty souvenir. It is an activity that kids of all ages can participate in!
