Unicorn Gundam

Gundam Statue light up transformation Odaiba

If you or your kids are into Gundam and have watched some of the anime then they will absolutely love visiting the Unicorn Gundam statue in Odaiba. The life-size statue from the Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn Series is 19.7m tall and is awe inspiring, even if you have no idea what or who Gundam is!

Try and time your visit for when Gundam transforms into Destroy mode, it looks awesome, particularly at night. Times can be found here.

Once the Gundam has transformed into destroy mode and you know that the city is safe… visit the Gundam Cafe (closed during COVID, although Yokohama Gundam cafe remains open) for a Gundam hot chocolate and Gundam pastry. And while you are there perhaps some Gundam biscuits to take home!

After fueling up, we’d recommend a visit to The Gundam Base Tokyo in the top level of Diver city. Here you can find Gundam clothing and a HUGE array of Gundam model kits. You may also be able to watch some of the staff making model kits and painting them from scratch. Give yourself a bit of time, our boys could have spent hours here!

How to get here

Daiba station is only a five minute walk. It is on the Yurikamome Line with a driverless train so try to sit up the front for an awesome view. This train line also crosses the famous rainbow bridge.

Tokyo Teleport Station, on the Rinkai line, is also close by and also a five minute walk.

Tickets

Tickets are not required. The life-size statue is outside for all public to see. The transformation times change so check them out here.
